| There
are many differrent versions of the origin of Lilith, to list them all
here would be quite a scholarly work. Instead the focus is upon Lilith
as it relates to the mention of her in the Tome of the Iron Nail.
Lilith, cast out before the Fall of man remained immortal. The angels,
the Watchers, led by Samyaza and numbering two hundred, sought her out
and from her union with the angel Azazyel came the Nephilim....whom the
Book of Enoch refers to as the "giants of old" mentioned in Genesis.
The Tome of the Iron Nail claims that this was the first race of vampires.
"And it has been said that among the Elders that, `Lilith was regal in her horror and beautiful in a sinister cast. She shunned the day and her eyes became thus like twin moons and could capture a mortal soul. She stood tall in stature with hair that fell to her feet that was dark as pitch against skin as white as ivory.' " ....The Tome of the Iron Nail volume one "The Birth of Sorrows"... It is written on the clay tablets of Midian, buried in vaults 'neath the Rock of Oreb "The angel Azazyel took Lilith as his Queen and taught her strange secrets. She gave unto him many children that were the same cast as she and also shunned the day. They honored her as Queen and goddess and they fed upon mortals to sustain their immortality. They became known as the Elders, for they were of the first linage." It appears that in other texts such as the Book of Enoch, that the remaining angels followed the same example as Azazyel and took to themselves wives. Yet none were as powerful or foreboding as the offspring of Azazyel and Lilith. "For the daughters of men were mortal having been born unto the Fall of Man. They became known as the Children of Nod. And from the wilderness came Cain and he dwelt with the Children of Nod and unto him was born sons...one was was named Enoch"....."The Birth of Sorrows" |
